Bedroom Set Dimensions: How Much Space Each Piece Needs
A bed frame’s overall size is usually larger than the mattress. Use the dimensions of İmhotep’s seven sets to see how much space each piece takes and whether a set fits your room.

Bedroom set dimensions start with the bed frame, which is almost always larger than its mattress. A typical set has a bed frame, two nightstands and a wardrobe, plus an optional chest of drawers, vanity table, bench and pouf. In İmhotep’s seven sets, bed frames measure 172–195 × 200–223 cm overall, nightstands 55–63 cm wide and wardrobes 219–233 cm tall; Venedik, Prada, Lükens and Versa take a 160×200 cm mattress.
Bedroom set dimensions: a piece-by-piece table for seven sets
There is no standard bedroom set size; dimensions vary by manufacturer and model. In the seven İmhotep sets in the table, bed frames measure 172–195 × 200–223 cm overall, nightstands 55–63 × 42–46 cm and benches 115–165 × 34–48 cm. How much floor space a set takes up comes down mostly to the bed frame’s overall size plus the wardrobe and the clearance its doors need in front of it. Dimensions in the table below are in centimeters; the figure listed as “depth” on the bed frame product pages is given here as length.
| Set | Bed frame overall size (W × L) | Bed frame height (headboard) | Nightstand (W × D × H) | Bench (W × D × H) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Venedik | 173 × 216 | 140 | 62 × 42 × 68 | 140 × 43 × 46 |
| Prada | 185 × 221 | 142 | 60 × 46 × 70 | Not in the set |
| Lükens | 177 × 218 | 150 | 63 × 42 × 78 | 140 × 42 × 46 |
| Versa | 185 × 223 | 130 | 58 × 43 × 61 | 115 × 34 × 47 |
| Elvin | 172 × 213 | 144 | 60 × 43 × 74 | 165 × 48 × 48 |
| Arizona | 195 × 216 | 138 | 63 × 42 × 69 | Not in the set |
| Louis | 195 × 200 (ask about mattress size) | — | 55 × 45 × 60 | 150 × 40 × 36 |
Even among bed frames that take the same 160×200 cm mattress, the difference in width reaches 12 cm: Venedik is 173 cm wide, Prada and Versa 185 cm. Put the bed frame and two nightstands side by side and you need a wall of 292 to 321 cm, depending on the set. If your bed wall is shorter than that, choose a narrower nightstand or make do with just one.

Wardrobe, chest of drawers, vanity table and pouf
Beyond the bed group, piece sizes vary more from set to set; the table gives the smallest and largest values, so check the exact dimensions of the model you choose as well.
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wardrobe | 111–263 cm | 43–66 cm (Elvin 43 cm, the others 58–66 cm) | 219–233 cm |
| Chest of drawers | 72–115 cm | 45–50 cm | 84–126 cm |
| Vanity table (with mirror) | 122–161 cm | 45–56 cm | 173–199 cm |
| Pouf | 38–60 cm | 38–45 cm | 43–48 cm |
For sets with two wardrobes, plan the wall around their combined width: Venedik’s double and triple wardrobes take up 341 cm side by side, and Versa’s double and four-door wardrobes take up 314 cm. For Prada’s two wardrobes, confirm the combined side-by-side width before you order. Our guide to wardrobe dimensions covers choosing width and depth by number of doors, and nightstand vs. chest of drawers explains how the two pieces are used differently.
Bed frame dimensions: overall size, mattress size and headboard height
A wooden bed frame has two sizes to know: the mattress size it takes and the overall size it occupies in the room. The overall size is the mattress size plus the thickness of the headboard, footboard and side rails, which is why a bed frame for a 160×200 cm mattress takes up more than 160×200 cm of floor. On the Venedik, Prada, Lükens and Versa bed frames, that difference is 13–25 cm in width and 16–23 cm in length:
- Venedik Bed Frame: 173 × 216 cm (+13 / +16 cm over the mattress)
- Lükens Bed Frame: 177 × 218 cm (+17 / +18 cm)
- Prada Bed Frame: 185 × 221 cm (+25 / +21 cm)
- Versa Bed Frame: 185 × 223 cm (+25 / +23 cm)
In Turkey, double mattresses are mostly sold 140, 150, 160 or 180 cm wide and 190 or 200 cm long, and the frame and mattress have to be matched to the same size. For the Elvin, Arizona and Louis bed frames, ask at our showroom or by phone which mattress size each is built for before you buy the mattress. You can see all seven models on the bed frame models page.
On the six bed frames with a listed height, the top of the headboard sits 130–150 cm above the floor. That number shows how far up the wall the headboard reaches, so plan outlets, wall sconces and artwork around it. In most homes this height is above the windowsill; if the bed will go in front of a window, measure the sill height and check how much of the window the headboard will cover.
Bed frame vs. storage base
A bed frame is the structure that carries the mattress, with a headboard, side rails and legs. A storage base is a box-shaped platform that sits under the mattress; most models are fabric-covered with a storage compartment inside, and the headboard is usually bought separately. A storage base takes up roughly the same footprint as the mattress. A bed frame’s wooden structure, on the other hand, matches the style of the rest of the set. İmhotep’s product pages don’t include storage bases; the bedroom sets are built around a bed frame, and mattresses aren’t counted among the pieces in a set.
Will it fit? How many square meters does a bedroom need?
Whether a set fits depends less on square meters than on wall lengths and the clearance left in front of each piece; a rough calculation with Lükens dimensions puts the bed frame and two nightstands at about 8.7 m² and the full set at about 15 m². When you transfer bedroom set dimensions to a floor plan, you can use these common guidelines; they are not a binding standard:
- The sides of the bed you use: at least 60 cm, or 70–90 cm for comfortable use.
- Walkway past the foot of the bed: 60–70 cm.
- In front of a wardrobe with hinged doors: 80–100 cm.
- In front of a chest of drawers: 80–90 cm; in front of a vanity table: at least 70–80 cm.
In the table below, these clearances are applied to the dimensions of the Lükens Bedroom; mark doors, windows and radiators on your own plan separately.
| Layout | Calculation (cm) | Room size | Area |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bed frame and two nightstands | Width: 63 + 177 + 63; length: 218 + 70 walkway | 3.0 × 2.9 m | About 8.7 m² |
| Bench at the foot of the bed, four-door wardrobe on the opposite wall | Length: 218 + 42 bench + 90 clearance + 58 wardrobe | 3.0 × 4.1 m | About 12.4 m² |
| Full set with vanity table and chest of drawers | Width: 48 vanity table + 80 working space (the nightstand on that side falls within this space) + 177 bed frame + 63 nightstand; chest of drawers next to the wardrobe (250 + 72 = 322 cm) | 3.7 × 4.1 m | About 15 m² |
Marking each piece’s position on the floor with painter’s tape is the easiest way to see how far doors and drawers reach when they open. Because the wardrobes in these sets are 219–233 cm tall, also measure the ceiling height and the route the wardrobe will take into your home; in attic rooms and under sloped ceilings, this is the deciding measurement.
Placement order: how to arrange a bedroom set
Start with the bed frame, the piece that takes up the most space and offers the least flexibility; the nightstands, wardrobe, chest of drawers, vanity table and bench are then placed according to where the bed goes.
- The bed wall: Set the headboard against a solid wall with no door or window, and leave a walkway on each side so you can get into bed from both. In a narrow room, one side of the bed can go against the wall, but that makes the bed harder to make.
- Nightstands: These go on either side of the headboard. A nightstand whose top sits close to the top of the mattress is easier to reach from bed. The nightstands in these sets are 60–78 cm tall, so consider that figure together with the thickness of your mattress.
- Wardrobe: It goes on the longest solid wall opposite or beside the bed. Keep the space in front of it clear so the doors open fully, and check that they don’t clash with the bedroom door.
- Chest of drawers and vanity table: These take the remaining walls. A vanity table is more practical near a window, placed so the light falls on you from the side or the front.
- Bench: It sits at the foot of the bed, centered on the frame. In the five İmhotep sets that include one, the bench is narrower than the bed frame: Elvin’s 165 cm bench nearly fills the foot of its 172 cm bed frame, while Versa’s 115 cm bench sits in the middle of a 185 cm frame. These benches are 34–48 cm deep, and that depth adds to the room length you need; if the walkway at the foot of the bed drops below 60 cm, skip the bench or choose a shallower model. The poufs, at 38–45 cm deep, don’t save space at the foot of the bed either.
What is a bedroom set, and how many pieces does it include?
A bedroom set is a group of furniture made in a single design style: a bed frame, nightstands, a wardrobe and complementary pieces; what it includes varies by model. Of the sets in this article, Venedik, Lükens and Elvin come to 8 pieces counting both nightstands, Prada to 7, and Versa to 9 with its chest of drawers:
- Venedik Bedroom: bed frame for a 160×200 cm mattress, two nightstands, one double and one triple wardrobe, vanity table, pouf, bench.
- Prada Bedroom Set: bed frame for a 160×200 cm mattress, two nightstands, vanity table, pouf and two wardrobes of different designs; no chest of drawers or bench.
- Lükens Bedroom: bed frame for a 160×200 cm mattress, two nightstands, four-door wardrobe, chest of drawers, vanity table, bench, pouf.
- Versa Bedroom: bed frame for a 160×200 cm mattress, two- and four-door wardrobes, two nightstands, vanity table, pouf, bench and chest of drawers.
- Elvin Bedroom Set: double bed frame, two nightstands, four-door wardrobe, chest of drawers, vanity table, pouf, bench.
- Arizona Bedroom: bed frame, nightstand, four-door wardrobe, vanity table.
- Louis Bedroom: bed frame, nightstand, chest of drawers, bench, pouf; the set page doesn’t list a wardrobe or a vanity table.
If you have a separate dressing room, a set without a wardrobe may be enough; with a two-wardrobe set, you can put the two wardrobes on different walls.

In short: where to start measuring
To test bedroom set dimensions against your own room, first measure the bed wall and make sure the bed frame’s overall width plus both nightstands fits on it. Then add the bench depth and a walkway of at least 60–70 cm to the frame’s overall length, leave 80–100 cm in front of the wardrobe, and look to the remaining walls for the chest of drawers and the vanity table. At every step, use the bed frame’s overall dimensions, not the mattress size.
You’ll find every piece of these sets on the bedroom sets and furniture page; most pieces have their dimensions listed on their own product page. Frequently asked questions
How many pieces are in a bedroom set?
A basic set usually has four pieces: a bed frame, two nightstands and a wardrobe. Adding a chest of drawers, vanity table, bench and pouf brings the total to 7–9. İmhotep’s Venedik, Lükens and Elvin sets have 8 pieces counting both nightstands, the Prada set has 7, and the Versa set has 9 with its chest of drawers. Contents vary by model (no wardrobe is listed for the Louis set), so check the piece list before choosing.
How should a bedroom set be arranged?
Start by setting the bed frame’s headboard against a solid wall, with a nightstand on each side. The wardrobe goes on the long wall opposite or beside the bed, the chest of drawers and vanity table on the remaining walls, and the bench at the foot of the bed. A common recommendation is to leave at least 60 cm beside the bed and 80–100 cm in front of a wardrobe with hinged doors.
How many square meters does a bedroom set need?
In a rough calculation with İmhotep’s Lükens set, the full set needs about 15 m² and the bed frame with two nightstands about 8.7 m²; adding a bench at the foot of the bed and a wardrobe on the opposite wall raises that to about 12.4 m². A set with a wider wardrobe, or with two wardrobes, may need more. Door, window and radiator positions also change the result, so measure each wall length individually before deciding.
Bed frame or storage base?
It depends on how much storage you need and the look you want in the room. A storage base takes up about the same space as the mattress, and most models have storage underneath; a bed frame, with its headboard and wooden structure, becomes the main piece in the room, and its overall size is usually larger than the mattress. İmhotep’s product pages don’t include storage bases; the bedroom sets are built around a bed frame.
What is a bedroom set?
It’s a group of bedroom furniture made in a single design style. The core pieces are the bed frame, nightstand and wardrobe; a chest of drawers, vanity table, bench and pouf complete the set. Which pieces are included varies by model; for example, no wardrobe is listed in İmhotep’s Louis set, and no chest of drawers in the Prada set.
What size mattress does a bed frame take?
In Turkey, double bed frames are usually made for 140×190, 150×200, 160×200 or 180×200 cm mattresses; the manufacturer states which one, and you can’t tell for certain from the overall dimensions. İmhotep’s Venedik, Prada, Lükens and Versa bed frames take a 160×200 cm mattress; their overall dimensions are 173–185 cm wide and 216–223 cm long. For the Elvin, Arizona and Louis bed frames, ask about the mattress size before ordering.
