Vanity Table Dimensions: Height, Depth, Mirror and Stool Sizes
When choosing a vanity table, consider tabletop height, depth, mirror and pouf size together. See the common ranges and the dimensions of İmhotep’s six models in the tables.

There’s no single standard for vanity table dimensions, but these are the ranges you’ll find at most manufacturers: tabletop height 72–78 cm from the floor, depth 35–55 cm, width 80–160 cm. On models with a mirror, overall height is a separate measurement: mostly 120–160 cm on ready-made models, approaching 200 cm on classic models with tall mirrors. A pouf’s seat height should be about 25–30 cm below the tabletop.
Standard vanity table dimensions: common ranges
Tabletop height, depth and width are what make a vanity table comfortable; on models with a mirror, the overall height including the mirror is added to these.
| Measurement | Common range | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Tabletop height (from the floor) | 72–78 cm | Pouf height and the user’s height |
| Depth | 35–55 cm | Distance between the mirror and the seated user; walking space in the room |
| Width | 80–160 cm | Clear length of the wall; how many drawers you need |
| Knee clearance under the top | At least 60–65 cm of clear height, depending on pouf height | Thickness of the center drawer |
| Overall height with the mirror | Mostly 120–160 cm; up to 200 cm on classic models with tall mirrors | Height of obstacles on the wall |
| Pouf seat height | 42–53 cm (45–50 cm for a 75 cm top) | Tabletop height |
When the depth drops below 40 cm, the space in front of the mirror for brushes, creams and jewelry gets tight. At depths over 55 cm, if the mirror sits at the back edge of the top, your face may end up a little far from it; in return, you get more room on the top.
İmhotep vanity tables: dimensions of six models
Across İmhotep’s six vanity table models, widths range from 122 to 161 cm, depths from 45 to 56 cm and overall heights with the mirror from 173 to 199 cm. These vanity table dimensions come from the technical details on the product pages; the “Height” value listed there should be read as the overall height including the mirror, not the tabletop height. The tabletop height isn’t listed on these pages.
| Model | Width | Depth | Overall height with the mirror | Key features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prada Vanity Table | 161 cm | 56 cm | 173 cm | Mirror and drawer module, movable mirror, turned legs |
| Venedik Vanity Table | 146 cm | 47 cm | 187 cm | Seven drawers, hand carving on the mirror frame and apron |
| Elvin Vanity Table | 146 cm | 46 cm | 195 cm | Mirror and drawer module, movable mirror, cabriole legs |
| Lükens Vanity Table | 140 cm | 48 cm | 195 cm | Two pieces, solid spruce, hand-carved mirror frame |
| Versa Vanity Table | 135 cm | 45 cm | 190 cm | Two pieces, solid spruce throughout, turned legs |
| Arizona Vanity Table | 122 cm | 54 cm | 199 cm | Three wide and three small drawers, hand-carved mirror frame |
For a narrow room, the shallowest model is the Versa Vanity Table at 45 cm deep, and the narrowest body is the Arizona at 122 cm wide. The Prada has the widest (161 cm) and deepest (56 cm) body, yet it is the lowest model in overall height with the mirror (173 cm); that difference comes in handy if a window or wall sconce limits the available height.
Factor the space in front into the vanity table dimensions, too: the floor space the vanity area takes up, measured out from the wall, is the body depth plus the clear space. With at least 75 cm of clear space, you need 45 + 75 = 120 cm for the Versa and 56 + 75 = 131 cm for the Prada. All five models other than the Arizona have a pouf from the same series; their dimensions are in the pouf table below.
Vanity mirror sizes and mirror types
A vanity mirror should be tall enough that your face falls in the middle section of the mirror when you sit; on ready-made models, the mirror section above the top is roughly 40–80 cm tall. To work out this portion, subtract the tabletop height from the overall height with the mirror. A seated adult’s eye level, on a pouf of around 45 cm, is usually 115–125 cm from the floor. If there is a window, outlet, wall sconce or curtain rail on the wall, compare the overall height with the mirror against how high these sit from the floor.

Fixed vs. movable mirrors
A fixed mirror’s angle doesn’t change; you adjust the light and the viewing angle by choosing where the table goes. The descriptions of the Prada Vanity Table and the Elvin call the mirror “movable.” The product pages don’t explain in detail how the mirror moves, and the descriptions of the other four models don’t specify a mirror type; we recommend asking before you order.
Hand-carved mirror frames
Hand carving on the mirror frame is found on the Lükens Vanity Table and on the Venedik and Arizona models; on the Venedik and Arizona, the carving continues down onto the apron as well.
Vanity stool and pouf sizes: seat height
The seat height of a vanity pouf should be about 25–30 cm below the tabletop height. With 72–78 cm tops, that difference gives a seat height of 42–53 cm; for a 75 cm top, 45–50 cm is comfortable. On a backless pouf, the overall height is more or less the seat height, and a padded cushion compresses slightly when you sit. The poufs in the Versa, Lükens, Prada, Elvin and Venedik series range from 43 to 48 cm in overall height.
| Pouf | Width | Depth | Overall height | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Versa Pouf | 38 cm | 38 cm | 48 cm | Turned legs, linen-textured fabric, tufted |
| Lükens Pouf | 41 cm | 41 cm | 48 cm | Cabriole legs, linen-textured fabric, tufted |
| Prada Pouf | 43 cm | 40 cm | 45 cm | Turned legs, linen-textured fabric, tufted |
| Elvin Pouf | 40 cm | 40 cm | 45 cm | Cabriole legs, velvet-textured fabric, tufted |
| Venedik Pouf | 43 cm | 44 cm | 43 cm | Cabriole legs, linen-textured fabric, tufted |
Choose the pouf to suit the top, not just the series: when you sit, there should be a few centimeters of space between your thighs and the bottom edge of the center drawer. If you want to push the pouf under the top, the clear opening between the table legs must be wider than the pouf, and the bottom edge of the drawer must be higher than the pouf. If you’re looking for a pouf outside the series, you can browse our pouf models; the description of the Wrought Iron Pouf notes that it can also be used as a vanity pouf.

What makes a good vanity table? Drawers, storage and placement
A good vanity table puts seating first and storage second: the center drawer under the top should stay slim, and deep drawers should go to the sides. Otherwise, knee clearance shrinks and the pouf can’t get close to the table.
The Venedik Vanity Table has seven drawers in total; the Arizona has three wide and three small drawers. The Prada, Elvin and Versa have a multi-drawer layout, and the Lükens has a drawer design that offers generous storage. All six models use soft-close runners and antique pulls. The Lükens and Versa come in two pieces; a multi-piece build generally makes them easier to move in buildings with narrow stairways.

How much space should you leave in front?
Leave at least 75 cm of clear space in front of the table so you can sit down on the pouf and get up comfortably; if someone will walk behind you, this should increase to around 100–110 cm. Choose a spot where daylight reaches your face from the side or the front; with the window behind you, your face stays in shadow. We’ve covered how much space the bed, the wardrobe and the other pieces take up in our article on bedroom set dimensions.
Chest of drawers or vanity table?
If you sit down every day to do your makeup or skincare, a vanity table is the better choice; if your priority is storing clothes and other belongings, a chest of drawers is. A chest of drawers is a cabinet made up mostly of drawers that you use standing up; with a mirror added on top, it can also serve for quick touch-ups.
If your room is big enough, you can also use both. İmhotep’s Lükens and Elvin bedroom sets include both a vanity table and a chest of drawers; the Versa series also has the Versa Chest of Drawers alongside its vanity table. The Louis Bedroom, on the other hand, has a chest of drawers but no vanity table. We cover the dimensions of a chest of drawers and how it differs from a nightstand in detail in our article on the difference between a nightstand and a chest of drawers.
A quick checklist for vanity table dimensions
Before choosing a vanity table, check four measurements: the width of the wall and the clear space in front of it, the height of obstacles on the wall, the height difference between the top and the pouf, and the depth.
- Measure the clear width of the wall and the clear space that will remain in front of the table (at least 75 cm, or 100–110 cm if people will walk behind you).
- Compare how high the windowsill, outlets and wall sconces sit from the floor with the overall height including the mirror.
- Find out the tabletop height and the bottom edge of the center drawer, and choose the pouf to match.
- Set the depth based on the walking space in the room: 40–45 cm for a narrow room, 50 cm or more for a spacious one.

Frequently asked questions
How tall should a vanity table be?
On most models, the top sits 72–78 cm from the floor, the same range as desks and dining tables. Think about the right height together with the pouf: the seat height should be 25–30 cm below the top. The 120–200 cm values you see on product pages usually show the overall height including the mirror, not the height of the top.
How deep is a vanity table?
Most vanity tables are 35–55 cm deep. Below 40 cm, the space in front of the mirror for cosmetics and brushes gets tight; beyond 55 cm, you get a larger top, but it can narrow the walkway in small rooms. On İmhotep models, the depth ranges from 45 cm (Versa) to 56 cm (Prada).
What size should a vanity table be?
Common dimensions are 80–160 cm wide, 35–55 cm deep and 72–78 cm in tabletop height; there is no official standard. For a compact corner, a width of 80–100 cm is enough; if you want drawers and a wide top, look at 120 cm and up. The six İmhotep models range from 122 to 161 cm in width.
What size should a vanity stool or pouf be?
The seat height should be about 25–30 cm below the top; for a 75 cm top, around 45–50 cm is comfortable. A width of 38–45 cm is enough for most uses. The five İmhotep poufs that share a series with a vanity table are 38–43 cm wide and 43–48 cm in overall height.
Which is more practical, a chest of drawers or a vanity table?
If you sit down regularly for makeup or skincare, a vanity table is more practical; if what you mainly need is drawers and storage, a chest of drawers is. A vanity table gives you knee clearance and a mirror; a chest of drawers offers more drawer space along the same length of wall. If space allows, the two can be used together in the same room.
What is a vanity table used for?
It’s a bedroom piece with a mirror and drawers where you sit to do your makeup, skincare and hair. It keeps cosmetics, jewelry and small grooming items in one place and gives you a comfortable work surface in front of the mirror. When needed, it can also be used for short writing tasks.
